I took this picture the same day I was at the train tracks. I got home and this HUGE cloud was seriously beside me as I pulled into the driveway. The cloud was so close that the reflection turned the road red. It was awesome! If only the power pole wasn't in the way. **

Yes,.. I've fallen behind a bit, which means it's time to post some older photos. This is one of my first pictures taken when I bought my new DSLR camera. I remember getting so frustrated trying to figure out certain settings. It's still frustrating, but I can maneuver much better. Shots of the moon are frustrating too because the moon is always smaller in the photo. This one turned out good. **

Okay, so I'm going to officially announce that from time to time I may have to post an older picture that was taken by none other than myself. Some days are just so monotonous that I don't come up with anything. I knew this was going to be a challenge, and now even more so because I will be working night shift for the next 2 months.

This is Jade, our newest member of the household. She was given to us around Thanksgiving time. She's a McNab Border Collie and the runt of the litter. She's a cutie, but I can't stand it when she and the other dog bark at the wind. **

Lookie what I found! Carl and I went for a hike not too far from the house. He was on the hunt for some shed deer antlers and I more or less was there to cover extra ground. That...and I needed the workout. Carl stopped to sit on a rock about 10 feet behind where this picture was taken. He was looking through his binoculars while I found this match set. You probably can't see it very well, but the other antler is at the top, in the middle...probably less than 10 feet apart. Of course by the end of the hike, he had to show me up by finding a match set to a non-typical deer that was probably three times bigger. Then again, that's what he does best,..HUNT!

Today, I missed a trip to Hell's Canyon Dam. The kids didn't want to miss school, so I decided to stay behind while Carl went. It was a nice, sunny day and I know I missed out on some awesome photo ops. The horses enjoyed the nice weather...here's Sundance attempting to rile up Cochise.

This is never a good sign. I went to work in the morning and my transmission didn't want to cooperate. The car only wanted to stay in 1st gear and the speedometer quit on me. Notice the fuel light too. So much for vacuuming and giving it some TLC. ...Time to search the classifieds.

Meet Dirty Steve, the rooster. We've had him for maybe 3 years now. When he was first given to us, he would crow at any and all hours of the day/night. He's a bit laid back now, but he'll get to crowing when I show up home from work at 3 in the morning. The girls gave him his name just recently from one of Hailey's favorite movies...Young Guns.

Meet Lindsay, my best friend since the 9th grade. She flew out to visit for a couple days and wanted to see one of many natural hot springs here in Idaho. The closest one we could drive to without having to hike very far was just outside of Garden Valley. She told me to post this, so this one's for her. :) Silly girl!

Trinity took a trip to the local ER. If you knew the story about this hospital, you'd tell me I was crazy for going there. All I needed was a prescription for Trinity's inhaler and it couldn't wait another day. I figured the staff could handle that simple task. She's all better now.

Took a drive today and saw quite a few bald eagles along different spots of the highway. This is the one that was the closest and stayed around long enough to let me film it. My guess is that this one is a male because of its size. The one that wouldn't let me sneak up on was a lot bigger. I had a few shots of her in flight, but she was too far away. :(

The End of a New Beginning

Happy New Year! I wanted my first post to be of an awesome sunset and this is what nature could give me. It's not the scenery that I wanted, but nonetheless it's a sunset. I guess it would have just been too awesome to actually catch the photo that I had planned on getting for the first day of the year. Oh well. Perhaps I'll get that awesome sunset shot on another day...
